Spec Work

TPK (Total Party Kill) is an actual play dungeons and dragons podcast whose energy is all chaos, all the time. 

I wanted to lean on that chaotic neutral vibe with the design for their logo, while also creating something that could scale easily and recognisably for the ever-important merch line that includes fun items like t-shirts, hats, mugs and stickers. 

The sword stuck into a pile of ash and debris works both with the letters “TPK” rising from the ashes and as a stand alone icon. The typeface I chose to work with invokes classic fantasy, and I love how the letter As look like wizards’ hats. 

I rounded out this visual identity with an adventurous colour palette and the chaotic tagline “roll high, or die trying”, a nod to the infamous D20 die that decides the fate of all pen and paper adventurers.
